Terms and Conditions
High Season – November through April
A deposit of 50% of the total trip cost is required to guarantee reservations and services upon acceptance of proposed transportation service. Balance is due 40 days prior to the arrival date. Any trips reserved less than 40 days prior to arrival must make full payment to confirm services.
For groups of more than 12 people we require a deposit of at least 40% in total to confirm reservations, with balance due at least 60 days before arrival.
Cancellations & Refunds
If a client has to cancel a planned Service we do everything possible to return as much of your deposit as possible. Nevertheless, guaranteeing services often requires non-refundable deposits. So while we work with clients on a case by case basis to refund the most possible, we are bound by following the cancellation policy.
Cancellation policy
Notice of any tour cancellation must be sent in writing and noted as received by one of our staff. Amount of refund depends on the cancellation date in relation to your arrival date.
14 days or more prior to the start date of the scheduled trip, the refund is 85% less any non-refundable partner´s deposits. 13-7 days prior to the start date of the trip; there is a 50% refund, minus partner´s deposits. 6 days or less to the start date of the trip, there are no refunds.
Responsibility
The criteria of excellence in quality of service will be followed at all times. MACUÁ TOURS acts only as an agent for the passenger in regards to travel, whether it be by horseback, 4×4, car, microbus, bus, boat or airplane and assumes no liability for injury, damage, loss, accident, delay or irregularity which may occur during a program.
The tour operator can accept no responsibility or loss or additional expense due to changes in schedules or other causes beyond our control like being refused entry to Nicaragua and Costa Rica by the immigration authorities. We reserve the right to accept or refuse any person as a member of any tour/Shuttle or to change or withdraw the tour as circumstances demand. All rates are subject to change. MACUÁ TOURS cannot be held responsible for personal injury or loss of passenger’s baggage, accident or loss of personal property, or for additional expenses due to storms, acts of God or other causes beyond our control. Any such expenses will be paid for by the passenger.
To confirm a Booking we will need a 50% deposit. If you are coming in less than 40 days a Full deposit will be required.
Nicaragua Travel Insurance
Macuá Tours recommends that you buy Travel Insurance. Here are suggestions of what a good policy might cover:
- Trip cancellation or interruption because of a covered medical problem that you, your traveling companion, family member or business partner may develop between the time you book and the end of your trip.
- Trip cancellation or interruption because of burglary of your or your traveling companion’s residence within 10 days of your departure or during your trip.
- Expenses arising from an accident or sickness during your trip including evacuation or repatriation to a hospital near your home if your situation is acute or life threatening.
- Payment for lost and delayed luggage.
