The part between the airport and the beach
The road is straightforward. The handoff is the part that needs a plan: transportation through Costa Rica, the border process at Peñas Blancas, and transportation waiting after you cross.

We explain what happens at Peñas Blancas and coordinate the handoff between both transportation teams. Immigration and customs decisions remain with the relevant authorities.
STEP 4
Once you have crossed, your Nicaragua driver continues with your party to your hotel, villa, rental or requested destination.

Around 2.5 to 3 hours is typical, but border traffic, immigration processing, road conditions and arrival time affect it. If you are planning something immediately after arrival, leave some flexibility.
