There’s a river canyon to cross, three miles of Río Negro rapids to ride and a volcanic mud bath that makes getting dirty seem positively sophisticated. Add a buffet lunch and time in the hot springs, and you have a very good reason to leave the hotel for the day.
We’ll arrange your private hotel transfers and the Adventure Pass at Hacienda Guachipelín. Join other guests for the activities, or ask us to arrange a private tour for your group.
Your round-trip transportation is reserved for your party. At Hacienda Guachipelín, you’ll join other guests for the Adventure Pass activities, with guides leading the canopy and tubing experiences.
It’s a sociable day of adventure with the convenience of your own hotel transfers.
Prefer to keep the adventure among familiar faces? Tell us you’d like a private tour when you inquire.
We’ll check availability and group requirements, then prepare a personalized quote explaining the private arrangements. Your quote will make clear which activities and guiding services are exclusive to your group, and which facilities remain shared with other visitors.
Seven zip lines take you across the river canyon, with rather more to hold your attention than the view alone. The circuit also includes a hanging bridge, two Tarzan swings, a controlled rappel of approximately 65 feet, a natural rock climbing wall and via ferrata sections.
You’ll experience the canyon from above, across and along its rocky sides, with guides leading the activity.
Take your place in an individual river tube for approximately three miles of Class II and III rapids. There are lively stretches, plenty of splashing and quieter pools where you can look up and appreciate the forest around you.
Guides accompany the descent. The tubes have handles and protective bottoms, designed for the river adventure ahead.
A buffet lunch is included, giving you time to sit down and enjoy a meal between the day’s activities. After the canyon and the river, an appetite is unlikely to be the missing ingredient.
If you have dietary requirements, let us know when you inquire so we can check suitable options before you book.
Ten thermal pools sit beside Río Negro, surrounded by tropical dry forest and warmed by the volcanic heat beneath the landscape.
Settle into the hot springs and enjoy a volcanic mud bath. After a day spent making enthusiastic use of your arms and legs, warm water makes a compelling argument for sitting still.
Activities are shared in the standard option. Private tour arrangements are quoted separately and confirmed before booking.
Allow a full day. The Adventure Pass takes approximately eight to eight and a half hours at Hacienda Guachipelín, plus transportation from your accommodation. We’ll confirm your pickup and estimated return time as part of your arrangements.
This Adventure Pass takes place at Hacienda Guachipelín in the Rincón de la Vieja area. It does not include the Las Pailas hiking trail or admission to the national park. The day described here focuses on the canyon activities, river tubing, lunch and hot springs.
The Adventure Pass described on this page is the option without horseback riding. If you’d like to include a ride, mention it when you inquire and we’ll check the appropriate package for your group.
The minimum age for river tubing is eight. The canyon canopy activity accepts children from age four, but this does not make the complete Adventure Pass suitable for every younger child.
Please include children’s ages in your inquiry so we can check the activity requirements and available arrangements for your family.
The stated maximum for the canopy and tubing activities is 300 pounds. Horseback riding, if requested, has a separate limit of 240 pounds. Mention any questions about the activity requirements when you inquire so we can clarify them before booking.
Bring a swimsuit, a change of clothes, long pants and closed-toe shoes that can get wet. A camera is welcome, too. You’ll have considerably more to photograph than your usual view from the pool.
We prepare a personalized quote based on your pickup location, group size and choice of shared activities or a private tour. Your quote will set out the included services, total price, payment terms and cancellation conditions before you book.
We’ll take it from there. Send us your preferred date, accommodation and number of travelers, including children’s ages. Let us know whether you’d like private transfers with shared activities or a private tour for your group.
We’ll check availability and put together your Rincón de la Vieja adventure day.
